YESSSS I was talking about it with a friend and we were saying that it really seems less like he doesn't understand emotions and more like he understands people and all that too well, so much that it's overwhelming. Which is a take on Sherlock that I really enjoy, because I've always really liked the idea of him having trouble with sensory overload (I love the moments they work with that in the Ritchie films). And then like he said, when you understand people that well most of the time, it's a lonely thing. BASICALLY I'M REALLY HAPPY with what they're choosing to do with his character!
