omg you guys heee! I was looking for maps of Narnia that actually showed me past Narnia itself (Calormene and Galma and etc.!) (which, by the way, I did mange to find, but if you have any especially good ones...) and I found this picture!

It's the part where she looks really really happy that is throwing me off. She's all "TREMBLE YE MORTALS, I AM JADIS QUEEN OF CHARN. WHEEEEE!"

As awful of a villain she was, I can totally see Uncle Andrew's fascination. She is magnificent. (I really liked Lewis's characterization of of her wild ride across London as a chariot ride. Awesome.)

I have that edition of the books! And yeah, her face just looks really really happy and playful and like she doesn't have a cruel bone in her body. wtf, so deceptive!
Also, standing on top of that thing? There is no way she wouldn't fall off or not totally choke that horse.

You know, someone ought to dump her and the Master into their own little world and the two of them can have an EPIC VILLAIN DEATHMATCH OF... something other than doom, because doom isn't even bad enough to describe the havoc those two could wreak.

edit: my husband figures that the Master wouldn't try to fight her, but win her to his side. Which is an even more terrifying thought.

Isn't she just? She's such a horrible horrible person but she's also rather magnificent. (I feel Tilda Swinton got this down rather well.) And yes! The wild ride across London was awesome.

Heee, I know. The unrealisticness of the picture was the second thing I noticed, but then I went straight back to why does she look so innocent, it is wrong.
