There is something wrong about destroying a world, and I think Edmund is especially likely to see that (next to Susan). Edmund is more detached from the current Stepford reality. and ohhh man, Edmund experimenting with death in this country. that was really hard to write.
I think I have such trouble writing Stepford Heaven because it creeps me out sooo badly, but there is also this very delicate balance to hold in so many places. I think in this place, they are defined by absences. absence of pain, and fear, and Susan, and sorrow. and that's a really heartbreaking thing to be, really. I dunno. Stepford Heaven rattles me, badly.
