Dec. 17th, 2010 02:33 pmI have seen Dawn Treader, and I loved it. Bit of a hurry, so I'll just copy-paste what I wrote over on NFFR.
Loved loved loved it.
Lucy fought! And I actually enjoyed her character arc - I think it made sense. I'm sure in Narnia, she was acknowledged as beautiful, but maybe in England she isn't so much and she feels young and dumpy and maybe wondering whether she really was ever beautiful in Narnia... It makes sense in my head, okay.
As for Edmund's, I think if you accept that the mist is capable of acting on buried emotions, then I'm sure Edmund has at times in his life felt resentment at Peter and others over him, and with Drinian's little "Caspian's in command" it might have pushed closer to the surface things he doesn't necessarily feel that strongly but are nevertheless there for the mist to work on.
I liked it all, basically. Joy to watch, really pretty, and I was so pleased with how much chemistry everyone on the cast had. I spent half the movie convinced that either Edmund or Lucy was about to make out with Caspian. Will P as Eustace was great, and I loved Susan's cameos (more Susan! I can ALWAYS use more Susan). The mist plot didn't make a great deal of sense, but I didn't really care. Things like that can be ficsplained. I wish there had been more Liliandil, and also more Liliandil hanging out with Lucy.
On a really shallow level - nnnnngh so much pretty SO MUCH PRETTY.
In other news, my dad is apparently going to have "minor surgery" to clear up an infection? I don't know! Nobody tells me anything around here. FML. Off to park, perhaps running around and throwing things will help.
