TYPE: Hour-long ensemble drama.
Wastelands
Eight people journey to see an ancient ruin in the Amazon, almost identical to over forty other similar ruins discovered around the world. The guide, a cynic with over twenty years of experience on these trails. An archaeologist and her assistant, hoping to at least get some record of it as the Brazilian government is refusing to allow them to excavate it. An English heiress with a penchant for adventure. An Air Force pilot on her last month of forced convalescent leave and bored out of her mind. A photographer for a well known archaeology magazine and the former medical student who's writing an accompanying article. An undercover CIA agent under orders from his government to bring back information on the ruin and ensure that no one else is lurking around it.
While in the ruin, a green light sweeps through the sky. Concerned and unable to raise contact on the radio with anyone, they return to find the entire city wiped clean of people and all communications down. Alone and with no idea what happened, they have to rely on each other to survive.
