be_themoon So today is International Women's Day!
In honor of that, some vid recs!
Threnody, by bop_radar. Nikita. This is - just wow, seriously. A really excellent look at Nikita and Alex's journey up until the midseason finale. Gorgeous and sad and heartbreaking, but there's hope.
I Will Survive, by shinealightonme. Sarah Jane Adventures. Sarah Jane Smith is fiercely and wonderfully awesome all by herself, thank you very much. <333
these next three are my favorite brand of vids - multifandom celebrations of women. One or two always seem to come out of the Halfamoon celebration, and this year there were three. THREE. I was in bliss for a little while there.
She's A Rebel, by kaydeefalls. Multifandom. This has a lot of my favorite Whoverse, Merlin, BSG, BtVS, and Harry Potter characters, plus Eowyn and Zoe and loads of other women from sources I don't know well but enjoy. Gorgeous.
Tightrope, by such_heights. Multifandom. A little more focused than the other two, this vid is about women frequently disliked by their fandom. Which means Mai and Ginny and Martha and River Song and Dee and lots of other absolutely awesome women. Check it out. Why doesn't fandom like these ladies again?
Advance, by fly_to_dawn. Multifandom. This one is harder to explain, but probably my favorite of the three (picking a favorite would be super hard, but yeah, I think it would be this one). There's just so much absolute JOY in it that it always, always makes me smile.
I'm busy and fine. <3 Have one college acceptance (Kalamazoo), crossing my fingers for more.
