be_themoonMy brain's decided to go all world-building, what if-fy on me. NO REALLY. I mean, look, you've got the Romans in Britain, right? And I'm not even going to go into the whole King Arthur legends things, because that has been done so many times and even a couple of times (BBC Merlin, Rosemary Sutcliff's 'Sword At Sunset') REALLY WELL, and look I'm just not going there. DANGEROUS TERRITORY.
But you do have the lovely Hadrian's Wall, and can you imagine living there? It's like one huge city that stretches across most of Britain, soldiers everywhere, and then just add magical creatures and the beautiful, lovely MESS you've got just waiting to be written. And on top of all that you've got Carausius, the Little Emperor who was murdered by Allectus.
And you've got the beacons and the lights going out across Britain and me going incoherent alkhsgkd;fsdkghjldkfjsd.
Oh god, now my brain is just investigating ROME. ROME WITH MAGIC. Or more, magic things. And how it could have been their secret and LOOK BRAIN, I'M SICK AND TIRED AND ARE YOU SURE THIS IS THE BEST TIME?
... darn. It is.
