So! Remember the erasure thing? Well, zempasuchil suggested an erasure-thon, something I am all for and think would be wicked fun. So! I'm spreading it along my f-list in an attempt to stir up more interest. And also, a poll about it! Because they are FUN.

I like that nobody thinks there has to be a length requirement! The more I think about it, the less productive a length requirement seems. Thank you for making this awesome poll!

I mean, maybe a requirement of at least 20 lines? Just to make sure we aren't getting like, tiny tiny things? But not a big one at all, if there is one.

I don't think people will be inclined to make tiny, tiny things, really. If we have a minimum for the source they will have enough material on their hands to come up with something good, and with erasure it's frequently harder to come up with something small than something big.

Me too! I'm not sure how to organize it - for one I am going to be out of town for 10 days starting Sunday. I dunno what could be done by then.

Well, Remix Redux deadlines are this weekend, Narnia Exchange deadlines in a month and 10 days. Hm. I dunno when schools get back in, but we could probably get it at least set up and ready for signups to start as soon as you get back maybe? And then have the deadline be sometime late in August?

... I dunno - I have about zero experience with this sort of thing.

Maybe we can open up signups this weekend, leave them open a while (no harm in that) till July Sat the 25th midnight, send out assignments within the week, and make the deadline Aug Sat 29th midnight? at latest. I don't want to crowd the Narnia exchange deadline, and in the meantime it gives people pleeenty of time to balance their schedules. I find that erasures go rather quickly, it only took me two or three nights to do that one of Lass's fic - compared to writing fic, really quick for me.

I will ask Lass what she thinks about this!
